M+ Class Tier List WoW Dragonflight

Welcome to Simple Carry's Mythic+ Class Tier List. Here, we'll go over all the possible class and role pairings and discuss how well they generally perform in Mythic+. You shouldn't use this list to determine which class you wish to join or play in your group. But keep in mind that we always advise you to play whatever spec you prefer and to simply have fun.

Dragonflight Class Ranking

To rank specs, we're going to employ a certain set of criteria. A class's capacity to survive this season is crucial. At this point, utility, damage, and survivability are all equally needed for success.

  • The importance of damage has not changed. You can finish the key more quickly thanks to it. Big damage also reduces the amount of damage your tank takes;
  • Utility in Mythic+ makes it easier and more efficient to complete dungeons. Think of bloodlust. Inviting a "worse" spec is acceptable if you don't already have it in your group in order to obtain that benefit.
  • The ability to survive is now VERY crucial. This tier list is about a combination of damage and resilience because new bosses and trash do a lot of damage. Because tanks couldn't pull half the dungeon like they could in Shadowlands, target-caped classes can now shine.

To determine the strength and utility of each class and specification, we will employ a traditional ranking system. Let us reiterate what that indicates:

  • S: Possessing the metagame spec hegemony. Groups with these characteristics may easily avoid problems and perform better in every circumstance.
  • A: Excellent specs with high damage and a good balance of utility and self-maintenance.
  • B: Just good specifications, but lacking in usefulness, damage, or survivability. Nevertheless, these specifications perform well when combined with other elite classes.
  • C: They have a number of drawbacks in terms of damage, utility, or survival.
  • Difficult to play efficiently in dungeons specs. Even when played flawlessly, they have trouble keeping up with the best specifications in terms of damage. They typically have poor tune.
  • F: A spec that demands the immediate attention and fine-tuning of developers.

Patch 10.0 Dragonflight DPS Rankings

1. HAVOC DEMON HUNTER (S TIER)

It has the best DPS and the best survivability in the game. Havoc Demon Hunter is also very good at damaging Single Target, even using Mythic+ build. A huge part of their damage comes from Immolation Aura, so they do not need to plan much about their offensive cooldowns.

Their self sustains due to Soul Rending, and Darkness makes this class almost undying if played well. For utility, they have 2 AOE disrupts like Chaos Nova and Sigil of Misery.

2. OUTLAW ROGUE (S TIER)

Outlaw Rogue is a great class overall, with tons of damage, utility, and survivability.  Shroud of ConcealmentFeintCloak of ShadowsEvasionAtrophic Poison / Numbing Poison is what makes Outlaw Rogue awesome for most Mythic+ groups.

3. WINDWALKER MONK (S TIER)

Windwalker Monk’s survivability and damage are mad. This spec is a killing machine. Touch of KarmaFortifying BrewDampen Harm, and Diffuse Magic are his defensive buttons. Most specs are happy to have 2 of these, but Windwalker has 4. The damage of Windwalker is also high. He has outstanding AoE burst damage, which is always great for Mythic+. Their utility is also great. Leg Sweep and Ring of Peace are examples.

4. DEMONOLOGY WARLOCK (S TIER)

The big point in favor of Demonology is their exceptional survivability: Soul LeechUnending ResolveDemon SkinDark Pact. The utility that Demonology spec provides is mediocre. They have things like HealthstoneShadowfuryDemonic Gateway, and Soulstone

5. SUBTLETY ROGUE (S TIER)

Subtlety has a lot of burst damage and that helps him to deal some great overall damage. They also have similar utility and defensive abilities to Outlaw Rogue. As was already mentioned, Feint Cloak of Shadows and Evasion are great saves.

6. ENHANCEMENT SHAMAN (A TIER)

It is the best DPS spec that brings Bloodlust. Their defensiveness is holding them back from getting into the S tier. Enhancement Shamans have incredible Single Target damage.

Their weakness is survivability. Astral Shift is a strong cooldown, but other classes have better options.

7. FERAL DRUID (A TIER)

Feral Druid’s AOE damage is great. They are not cooldown reliant and can do consistent, high damage. As for utility, they have Mark of the Wild, and Nature's Vigil is very strong. They also have a battle resurrection which is a very strong utility for the whole group.

8. RETRIBUTION PALADIN (A TIER)

Their survivability isn’t really good. Divine Protection is very weak because of its long cooldown. Divine Shield is nice, but it also has a long cooldown. It is hard for Paladins to live in Dragonflight.

Although they provide their party with some great utility spells like Hammer of JusticeBlessing of FreedomLay on Hands, and Blessing of Protection

Paladins do great damage and have strong bursts, but it is difficult to damage tank kites.

9. FURY WARRIOR (A TIER)

Fury Warriors have good AOE damage and self-sustain. But this becomes their problem, too, as they can easily take threats and die. Their utility is something that the party may want: Rallying CryDefensive Stance, and Spell Reflect.

10. ARCANE MAGE (A TIER)

Arcane Mage’s burst damage is the highest if we talk about ranged DPS. His defensive abilities are also strong – Ice BarrierGreater InvisibilityAlter TimeMirror Image, and Ice Block. Arcane is very cooldown reliant. Many Dragonflight dungeons require movement, which makes a huge problem for Arcane mages.

11. UNHOLY DEATH KNIGHT (A TIER)

Their damage on super big pulls is legendary. But there aren’t many dungeons with the large pull size. Outside of those dungeons, they deal a mediocre DPS. Nevertheless, their saves and utility spells are really strong – Death GripAbomination LimbInsidious ChillAnti-Magic ZoneDeath StrikeAnti-Magic ShellIcebound Fortitude, and Veteran of the Third War make them strong A-tier.

12. FROST MAGE (A TIER)

Frost Mage’s overall damage is OK, but they also provide a huge amount of utility to the group. They allow tanks to kite easily. The strongest side of Frosts is their survivability. Ice BarrierGreater InvisibilityAlter TimeMirror Image,  Ice Block are what puts Frost Mage into A.

13. SHADOW PRIEST (A TIER)

Shadow Priest is a great supporting class. Mass Dispel is unfairly strong on Bursting weeks. Power Word: Fortitude,Vampiric EmbraceDispersion, is very powerful in every situation too. They also have Power Infusion! Their damage falls behind slightly, but the amount of utility they provide is just insane.

14. ASSASSINATION ROGUE (B TIER)

Assassination rogue is the weakest spec of the class. They do mediocre AOE damage and stop the tank from chain-pulling. They really want to get back into stealth because of GarroteImproved Garrote, and Shrouded Suffocation. Still, they have very strong utility/defensiveness – Feint,Cloak of ShadowsEvasion. In addition, they also have access to Iron Wire Garrote, which silences up to 8 mobs for 6 seconds.

15. MARKSMANSHIP HUNTER (B TIER)

His saves have got long CDs, and he lacks self-sustain even with  Fortitude of the BearSurvival of the FittestAspect of the Turtle, and Exhilaration. Marksmanship has some of the highest burst AOE in the game. They seem like the best hunter spec atm.

16. BALANCE DRUID (B TIER)

If to talk about utility, then Balance Druid is what you are looking for. No matter how good or bad their DPS is, they consistently stay at high tier – Force of NatureTyphoonUrsol's VortexIncapacitating RoarSolar BeamRemove Corruption.

The main reason it is in B-Tier, for now, is their damage style. Any pack that lives less than 40 seconds, Druids are going to struggle to keep all of their DoTs and Starfalls rolling.

17. DEVASTATION EVOKER (B TIER)

They bring Bloodlust to the dungeon. Their overall damage is strong. Mastery: Giantkiller helps them to deal with that task. The utility is also really good – Wing Buffet and Tail SwipeOppressing RoarZephyr,Cauterizing Flame. Their survivability is horrific. Two charges of Obsidian Scales and decent self-sustain are all that Devastation really has.

18. DESTRUCTION WARLOCK (B TIER)

The Rain of Chaos builds that people used to play in Season 4 are not strong enough at the moment. And that moves Destruction Warlock down in the tier list.

19. FIRE MAGE (B TIER)

Despite the fact that fire mages have been recently buffed, they still find their place in B-tier. This ranking is only based on their poor tuning.

Fire mage is the same as the other 2 mage specs if to talk about defensiveness and utility. Cauterize is an additional save that Fire Mages have.

20. FROST DEATH KNIGHT (B TIER)

Frost Death Knight can deal some very high amounts of damage on 2-4 targets. But this class requires a special build for it. At the moment, Breath of Sindragosa is the best Frost DK build for M+, but players will struggle to do damage a lot.

Survivability and Utility wise, Frost DK is a great class – Death GripAbomination LimbBlinding SleetInsidious Chill,  Anti-Magic ZoneDeath StrikeAnti-Magic ShellIcebound Fortitude, and Veteran of the Third War

21. ELEMENTAL SHAMAN (B TIER)

Elemental Shaman is a Jack of all trades, Master of none. The survivability is OK due to spells like Nature's GuardianAstral Shift, and Earth Elemental. Its AOE and Single Target damage are OK too, but it is not something special we haven’t seen among other classes. His utility is BloodlustThundershockEarthquake, and Ancestral Guidance

22. AFFLICTION WARLOCK (C TIER)

This class has the same problem as Unholy Death Knight. If pulls are big, they can shine. Outside of those situations, their damage is lower than mediocre.  Nevertheless, their survivability is just as strong as Demonology.

23. ARMS WARRIOR (C TIER)

Arms Warrior’s Mythic+ build struggles to do good single-target damage. Due to the talents system playing Arms, you lose a huge chunk of Survivability and Utility

Blizzard has recently buffed his damage outside of Execute, so this could move this spec up a rank, but the decision-making on a Bladestorm focused build or a Juggernaut Execute holds Arms away from getting into higher tiers.

24. SURVIVAL HUNTER (D TIER)

Does decent Single Target damage but low AOE damage. Survival Hunter has the worst defensive spells. In comparison to Shadowlands, Wildfire Bomb is super weak. In Shadowlands, hunters used to have some decent life-saving Conduits, but things changed since they’d been removed. With that being said, we put Survival into the D tier.

25. BEAST MASTERY HUNTER (D TIER)

The Beast Mastery Hunter’s damage is mediocre, they have no bursts and provide weak utility for the group. They also have one of the worst defensive cooldowns in the game –Fortitude of the BearSurvival of the FittestAspect of the Turtle, and Exhilaration the cooldown on these defensives are very long.

Patch 10.0 Dragonflight Healer Rankings

1. RESTORATION DRUID (S TIER)

Restoration Druid is the best healer for Mythic+. They are not only great healers, but they also deal decent damage, which speeds up the run. On AOE pulls, they deal heavy damage with spells like Sunfire and Swipe or Starfire.

Their powerful utility spells also make Mythic+ groups stronger – TyphoonSkull Bash, or Incapacitating RoarMark of the WildSootheRebirth, and Stealth. Druids are very mobile. Their mobility makes them exceptional healers. The biggest downside to Druid is that they rely mostly on HOT effects.

2. PRESERVATION EVOKER (S TIER)

Preservation Evoker is a new class in Dragonflight. They have powerful short cooldowns that can be used to quickly save the party. Preservation’s damage is at a high level. This is great for M+ healers as it helps the party to go faster. Preservation also has strong defensive spells like Zephyr and Cauterizing Flame.

The utility kit of Evoker is somewhat similar to Shaman. It has an interruption and Bloodlust. Evoker’s main weakness is its short range of spells. They may struggle in certain boss fights. Still, we put them in S-tier.

3. HOLY PALADIN (A TIER)

Holy Paladin has the strongest utility kit among healers. They can completely ignore some trash and boss mechanics with spells like Divine Shield and Blessing of Protection.  With the newly implemented talent tree system, Paladin’s now have the option to take some very powerful combinations for AoE healing. Paladin’s damage is a bit behind Evoker and Druid. Some talents allow them to deal great AoE damage, but their single-target damage is a bit low.

4. RESTORATION SHAMAN (B TIER)

Shamans have very strong burst healing cooldowns – Ascendance and Spirit Link Totem. They help to get through the most dangerous situations. Shamans also rely primarily on hard casting, which means they can struggle in high-movement situations. Still, in large trash pulls, Shamans may underperform compared to other healers. This class is famous due to their Bloodlust as well as a very powerful ranged interrupt with a 12-second cooldown.

5. HOLY PRIEST (B TIER)

Holy Priest is a powerful single-target healer. The main problem shows up when really heavy group damage is needed. Apotheosis may help but only once in two minutes.

Power Infusion is something that can boost an ally’s DPS up to the skies. If to talk about some class problems – Holy Priests cannot interrupt casts. Another downside is that they are quite immobile and squishy.

6. MISTWEAVER MONK (B TIER)

Now Mistweaver Faeline Stomp triggers Ancient Teachings. On top of that, every 10 seconds, Monks can now cast an instant Vivify. Mistweaver healing is incredibly mana efficient and simple enough to get up to Mythic +20. One downside Mistweaver healing has is a lack of strong cooldowns.

Mistweaver’s utility is all about mob control – Leg SweepRing of PeaceParalysis, and ProvokeMystic Touch is another good buff for your party.

7. DISC PRIEST (B TIER)

Disc Priest’s damage has been improved quite a bit. The can also implement Power Infusion both for yourself and your ally. Discipline’s mana efficiency has been improved with the addition of Power Word: Life

Similar to Holy, Disc suffers a lot of utility. Disc Priests can also have problems with burst healing. Discipline is best to be paired with classes that have some great self-sustain. Discipline Priests can shine bright, it just needs the right group composition.

Patch 10.0 Dragonflight Tank Rankings

1. PROTECTION WARRIOR (S TIER)

Protection Warrior is at the top now. They are the best in both damage and survivability.

Warriors have usually struggled with recovering from damage taken or mitigating magic and bleed damage, but now their sustain is much better with the added leech passives Leeching StrikesOne-Handed Weapon Specialization, and the Warrior Protection Class Set 4pcSpell Block is super strong, helping them to neglect magic damage. Demoralizing Shout and Shield Wall are also on a much shorter CD with the talents Impenetrable Wall and Thunderlord.

The best comps to play around warrior will be physical damage heavy comps with Monk healer because of how much group DPS Battle Shout ends up providing.

2. VENGEANCE DEMON HUNTER (A TIER)

Demon Hunters excel in both damage and survivability. Their amount of utility is what really sets them apart from other tanks –Sigil of Silence Chaos Nova,Chaos Brand etc…

Demon Hunter single target damage has become better because of the new Frailty stacking mechanic. The Fiery Brand build with Fiery Demise also helps with the lack of damage Demon Hunters previously had. Demon Spikes uptime is also noticeably higher when specced into Extended Spikes and Feed the Demon. All in all, Demon Hunters became much tankier.

3. GUARDIAN DRUID (A TIER)

Guardian Druid performs insanely well. Druids are very easy and forgiving tanks to play with. That makes them great for new players.

Talent revamp allows Bear to consistently pull many packs and survive better. Incarnation: Guardian of Ursoc‘s cooldown can now be as short as 1-2 minutes, depending on how large you pull. The Moonfire talents (Galactic GuardianTwin MoonsFury of NatureScintillating Moonlight, and Elune's Favored) combined provide Druid with a ton of extra damage, passive healing, and damage reduction. Lastly, the talent After the Wildfire provides a ton of passive healing, and Maulnow does real damage on a single target with the talent Tooth and ClawMark of the Wild is back and is extremely impactful!

M+20 Dungeon Boost

4. PROTECTION PALADIN (A TIER)

Protection Paladin is a solid choice. They have a lot of defensive cooldowns to survive and can do solid damage. But still, Paladin’s strongest point is their utility and amount of kicks – Avenger's Shield and Divine Toll. Paladins also have a ton of other tools to support the team with abilities like Blessing of SpellwardingLay on HandsBlessing of Sacrifice.

At the high-level keys, Protection Paladin won’t be popular because the top players will be able to get there without Paladin’s utility. However, for pug groups, Paladins are an amazing choice.

5. BLOOD DEATH KNIGHT (A TIER)

Their biggest strength is their ability to survive and heal themselves. Blood Death Knight can’t do as much damage as other tanks, but due to their self sustain, and how important survival is in Dragonflight dungeons, this could be a huge reason for Death Knight’s success in high keys.

If the M+ meta comes down to tank survival, Blood Death Knight will be a very popular choice again.

6. BREWMASTER MONK (B TIER)

Monks have more defensive skills than they did in Shadowlands, but their biggest strength is the amount of damage they can bring.

Monks do some insane damage to their new talents Resonant FistsCharred Passions, and have access to multiple powerful offensive CDs like Exploding KegBonedust Brew, and Weapons of Order. Even after the buffs, they require intense healing and attention to stay alive. Unfortunately, they do not provide huge team utility Mystic Touch will be a huge addition to the group if comps end up not having a Windwalker monk and a lot of other high physical damage classes.

Thank you for reading our Mythic+ Class Tier List. We are going to change and keep it up to date according to things going in the game. Meta is always changing, don’t get upset if your main character is not in the S+ tier, as it may be changed in future patches. Keep in touch and come back later to check the changes!
