Dragonflight Holy Paladin Healing Guide

Holy Paladin Overview

With a variety of defensives and damage reductions, the Holy Paladin is a healer specialization that uses a one-handed weapon, shield, and plate armor. With massive single target heals, often known as "spot healing," we concentrate in healing particular targets. At level 16, the Holy Paladin gains access to the famous  Beacon of Light, which enables us to keep a particular target healed while healing other allies who may require it.

Holy Power, a special resource similar to combo points, is used by all Paladin specialities in addition to the standard healer resource mana. The majority of our spells produce this resource, which we can use to cast  Word of Glory and  Light of Dawn, two of our most potent heals.

Holy Paladin Stats

Your main stat is intellect, which is present on all of your plate armor and weaponry. One of your main methods for getting stronger is through intellect, which also improves the amount of damage and healing your abilities deal.

Each piece of gear will also have two secondary stats on it. This is what they do:

  • Item Level > Haste > Mastery > Versatility > Critical Strike
  • Critical Strike: Chance for each attack and ability to do twice as much damage or healing.
  • Haste: Increases attack speed and spell casting speed. Also reduces the cooldowns of some spells like  Holy Shock.
  • Mastery: Increases the effectiveness of  Mastery: Lightbringer. This increases the healing you do based on how close your target is to you.
  • Versatility: Increases damage and healing, and reduces damage taken.

Pros and Cons

 Strengths Weaknesses

  • Very little control over your Mana consumption
  • Low mobility, only having Divine Steed which is a short duration, long cooldown ability.

Holy Paladin Rotation Priority

Melee Build Healing Rotation and Priority

Our best suggestion is to rune the Melee build, as it's the overall strongest build for paladins. Due to that, this section will only focus on the melee build

The goal of this build is to maximize the number  Holy Shock yyou cast in order to cover the most people with  Glimmer of Light. The extremely high mana requirement for using  Crusader's Might is a disadvantage of this setu.. Nonetheless, this build can still be quite effective with just 1 point—or even without—in  Crusader's Might.   Consecration with  Golden Path should be prioritized over  Crusader Strike during prolonged battles where mana becomes a major problem.

  1. Make sure you have  Beacon of Light on a tank.
  2. If on 5 Holy Power, Spend Holy Power on  Light of Dawn or,  Word of Glory for spot healing or with  Empyrean Legacy buff up.
  3. Cast  Divine Toll if on 1 or 0 Holy Power.
  4. Cast  Judgment if  Empyrean Legacy is ready.
  5. Spend Holy Power if on 3 or 4 Holy Power.
  6. Spend  Infusion of Light by casting  Holy Light directly on your  Beacon of Light.
  7. Cast  Judgment.
  8. Use  Light of the Martyr as an emergency heal.

Mythic+ Melee Healing Rotation and Priority

This build places less emphasis on triage healing with  Flash of Light and more emphasis on AoE burst healing using   Beacon of Virtue and  Empyrean Legacy.   Flash of Light, when paired with  Tower of Radiance, is a very quick way to obtain Holy Power during  Beacon of Virtue, and still worth casting. But  Hammer of Wrath and  Crusader Strike will be your primary sources of Holy Power.

This build is excellent for this expansion because several bosses, like the Raging Tempest in Nokhud Offensive or Hyrja in Halls of Valor, have phases that require a lot of healing. For this,  Beacon of Virtue is highly potent. Focus on keeping at least 3 Holy Power, but ideally 5 available for whenever such damage periods happen. By casting  Judgment before the damage starts, you can also ensure you have an  Empyrean Legacy  proc available.

  1. Cast  Beacon of Virtue if you need AoE healing.
  5. Keep  Consecration down.
  6. Spend Holy Power if on 3 or 4 Holy Power.
  7. Spend  Infusion of Light by casting  Holy Light directly on your  Beacon of Light.
  8. Cast  Judgment.
