Preservation Evoker Overview
A very distinctive healing class called Preservation Evoker has numerous resources (mana and essence) and a new kind of spell called an Empowered Cast, which gets stronger the longer you charge it. They are a slow-paced healer, yet every spell they cast has a profound effect. It is also the sole mid-range class in the game, with Preservation having a 30-yard casting range and Devastation having a 25-yard casting range for all spells. Preservation may be customized to meet any healing need you encounter thanks to its good mobility, potent damage potential, and variety of spell combinations.
As the newest hero class, Evokers begin at level 58 rather than level 1. Whether we are members of the Horde or the Alliance, we are all bound to the Dracthyr race.

Preservation Evoker Stats
Our main stat is intellect, and it can be found on the majority of your gear. The ring, neck, and occasionally trinket slots are the only exclusions. Since intellect is comfortably the strongest stat point for point, we frequently give our top item level pieces priority (with a few exceptions). The guidelines listed below are for level 70. Just concentrate on obtaining the highest item level components you can while leveling.
Secondary Stats & what they each do:
- Item Level >> Critical Strike > Mastery > Haste > Versatility
-
Critical Strike: Provides a chance to double the healing done by your spells. We have a few special crit interactions in Exhilarating Burst (which makes our crits bigger when active) and Reversion which effectively lasts longer the more crit we have. Crit notably does not increase the healing done by our absorbs like Temporal Anomaly.
-
Haste: Decreases the cast time of your spells (including empowered spells), adds ticks to our HoTs ( Dream Breath, Reversion) and reduces the Global Cooldown (GCD). Haste also reduces the cooldown of some of our spells like Reversion, Temporal Anomaly and Verdant Embrace. Haste is a decent but unexceptional stat for Preservation. It offers only moderate efficiency increases and so you're unlikely to seek it out except in dungeons where efficiency can take a backseat to higher raw damage & healing.
-
Mastery: Mastery: Life-Binder increases our healing if our health percentage is higher than our targets. This is pass /
fail so if you're equal or higher then you'll get full mastery value. Our mastery is extremely good and in raid you will actively seek it out. It's our strongest healing secondary stat by quite a large margin due to it being significantly cheaper per point than the alternatives. -
Versatility: Adds damage, healing and a reduction in damage taken but is much more expensive as a result. Versatility isn't a weak stat, but it does tend to lack a little bit compared to the three above.

Preservation Evoker Phials
Both builds will use Phial of Elemental Chaos or Phial of Tepid Versatility. Unlimited HoT builds would love to play Iced Phial of Corrupting Rage but the crit bonus turns off for 15s every time you take 100% of your health in damage which means it isn't viable for high end content.

In Mythic+ you can run Phial of Glacial Fury. It does a substantial amount of damage and is worth giving up a little bit of healing to run.
Preservation Evoker Combat Potions
There are a couple different potions that have different useful scenarios for us:
-
Raiding: Potion of Chilled Clarity (Note that Empowered Spells don't currently suffer the increased cast times, nor does your GCD for instant cast spells).
-
Mythic+: Elemental Potion of Power
Preservation Evoker Weapon Buff
You'll put Buzzing Rune on your weapon in all scenarios.
Best Preservation Evoker Food
-
Feast: Grand Banquet of the Kalu'ak
-
Personal Food: Fated Fortune Cookie
Best Preservation Evoker Gems
You'll want to use Sensei's Neltharite or Sensei's Sundered Onyx (cheaper) where possible, however gem slots are extremely flexible. You'll want to socket one "Primal Gem" when you have some decent items to put it in. I'd recommend Skillful Illimited Diamond.
Preservation Evoker Rotation Priority
A quick note on Empowered Spells
"Empowered Spells" is a brand-new mechanic that evokers bring with them. The longer you charge these special casts, the stronger or varied effect they have. Fire Breath, Dream Breath and Spiritbloom are the three that are available to us. Every time we mention them in the text below, we'll also provide a rank that indicates the level we're charging it to. The fastest is rank 1, and the slowest is rank 4. Because of the Leaping Flames talent, Fire Breath is typically always utilized at rank 4. Since it heals more targets and performs more healing, Spiritbloom also greatly benefits from cast at a higher rank. Dream Breath is a little unique in that the amount of healing is constant and the rank only affects how much of it is direct healing as opposed to a HoT. We frequently cast it at rank 1 or 2 due to this.
Preservation Evoker Raid Healing Priority and Rotation
-
Cast Rank 1 or Rank 2 Dream Breath whenever the raid is lightly or moderately injured. Combine it with Verdant Embrace where possible since it buffs the cast ( Call of Ysera).
-
Hit Emerald Communion during any periods of medium damage or as a defensive. Read below for some Lifebind combos you can pair it with.
Preservation Evoker Mythic+ Healing Priority and Rotation
In Mythic+, Preservation behaves somewhat differently. You'll rely less on lengthy Emerald Blossom combos and more on empowered spells. Also, you'll have to manage more single target healing than you might in a raid, and you'll frequently prioritize doing damage when you can.
-
Cast Rank 1 or Rank 2 Dream Breath whenever the party is lightly or moderately injured. Similarly to raid, combine it with Verdant Embrace where possible since it buffs the cast ( Call of Ysera).
-
Cast Echo if you know damage is coming soon, or Emerald Blossom if you're taking sustained AoE damage.
